Hélio Vida was born in Patos de Minas, Brazil. He regularly performs as soloist, accompanist and chamber musician and has played numerous recitals and Liederabend in Brazil, Chile, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Latvia, the Netherlands and Switzerland.
In 2015 he played at the Festival Classique au Vert in Paris, at the Salle Poirel with the Stanislas Quartet in Nancy, at the Aix-en-Provence Festival and accompanied the International Competition for Wagner Voices in Bayreuth, Germany.
Very attracted by the vocal repertoire, he has worked with singers and choirs for many years.
Between 2010 and 2015 he has attended Markus Hadulla’s Lied class and has been working at the Karlsruhe School of Opera (IMT), Germany, as accompanist, notably in soprano Julia Varady’s monthly master classes.
In January 2014 he won the special prize for piano accompaniment at the Felix Mendelssohn Singing Competition in Berlin, Germany.
In June 2014 he participed to the Mozart and Rossini Aix-en-Provence Academies and was awarded “Lauréat HSBC” of the Festival.
In October 2014 he accompanied Larissa Gergieva’s master class on Russian Repertoire at the Latvia National Opera in Riga, Latvia.
He also taught at the Karlsruhe University of Music, Germany, as vocal coach and worked with Thomas Hampson, Udo Reinermann, Anne Le Bozec, Mitsuko Shirai, etc.
Hélio Vida graduated from Minas Gerais State University and the Conservatoire de Nancy before joining the piano class of Prof. Michael Uhde and Prof. Markus Stange in Karlsruhe University of Music, Germany, where he graduated with a Master of Music – Piano in July 2012 and with a Master of Chamber Music in 2015. He has also been working with Fauré Quartett Members and Prof. Angelika Merkle.
